Usually, our grilling marinade is a random mix of some of the following ingredients: oils, wines, vinegars, soy sauces, citrus juices, garlic, herbs, ginger, salt, and pepper. For the record, the following two recipes worked well during last night's "beach barbecue":
Salmon Marinade
2 parts soy sauce
2 parts brown sugar
2 parts water
1 part olive oil
ginger, sliced

2 parts olive oil
1 part red wine vinegar
garlic cloves, crushed
thyme and rosemary, chopped
